William C. Grambo

William C. “Bill” Grambo, 96, of Greenwood, IN passed away on November 20, 2023, at Community Hospital South.  Bill was born in East Chicago, IN to William and Irene (Sprunce) Grambo.  He was a graduate of Hammond High School, and a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps.  On July 21, 1951, he married his wife, Marilyn Hines.  Bill had been a meat cutter for many years during his career and retired from Fairway Foods.  He was an avid bowler, fisherman, and fly fisherman.  Bill also loved to play poker.  He had a host of friends, but above all else, he loved his family.

Bill is survived by his daughters: Lyn (Ron) Markowicz and Suzanne (Gregory) Wolf; grandchildren: Vincent, Trevor (Holli) and Nicholas Markowicz and Abigail Wolf; great grandson, Calvin Markowicz; step grandchildren: Kaelie (Drew) Harris and Morghan (Tim) Harrigan; step great-grandchildren, Palmer and Cam Harris.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marilyn and son, William “Billy”.

Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM (Central) on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 S. Cline Ave. Crown Point, IN.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM (Eastern) on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 481 West Main Street, Greenwood.
