Tony G. Shaw Sr. left a message on January 9, 2023:
The family of Tony and Ruthie Shaw send our condolences to Uncle Eddies children and grandchildren as well as Aunt Dee (Shaw) Haston. So sorry we could not attend and be with your family and friends on this day. Uncle Eddie will always be in my memory. He was a very wonderful mentor to me . He spent many hours with me on the floor, teaching me how to grade, and choose the best coins for my collection. I could tell you about the time he came home from the Army and gave me his hat (the pointed one) and an item fell from the folds of the hat. I ask him, “what is this for?” He said that is a balloon! I will let you guess what it was as I sit here laughing and remembering. Love you, Uncle Eddie, RIP till we meet again.
