William K. Eyster
age 76 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on November 6, 2023, at his home in Greenwood, Indiana. Bill was born to the late Col. Richard W. and Marilyn G. (Boger) Eyster.
After completing his education, Bill went on to join the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. Upon his return home, he went to work for Warren Township Fire Department, where he retired after 21 years of service. In that time, he was also a patrol officer for Cumberland Police Dept. After retirement in 1990 from the Fire Department he went on to join Clermont Police Department as Chief of Police and then Rocky Ripple Police Department. Bill was also a motorcycle Funeral Escorts during this time for various funeral homes. Once retired from serving his community, he took retirement to another level and started driving a Semi-truck and a Taxicab. Bill was a hardworking man who loved new adventures, traveling and his family.
He is survived by his three children, Debra (Chuck) Stout, James Eyster and Steven (Vicki) Eyster; ten grandchildren, Nikki, Nick, William, Andrew, Victoria, Michael, Conner, Aaron, Bailey, and Charlie; six great grandchildren, Jovie, Winnie, Ezra, Colt, Eden, and Aurora. In addition to his parents Richard & Marilyn Eyster, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Eyster, and Richard Eyster II, his sister, Cynthia Mitchell; a nephew, Edward “JR” Eyster and a grandson, Cameron Stout.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #3207 5556 E. US HY 40, Plainfield, Indiana 46168.
