William Russell Greenwald, 87, passed away January 5, 2015.Born in Akron, OH on Aug 18, 1927, Bill graduated from Buchtel High School, then enlisted in the US Army, serving in the infantry in Korea. He married Dorothy F. Hodges on Nov 5, 1949; they lived on Fenton Ave. in Mogadore OH for 34 years. He was employed by General Tire as a draftsman, retiring in 1984 following 32 years of service. In 1991 he and wife Dorothy moved to Greenwood IN and enjoyed 24 years close to children and grandchildren. He had a great love of nature, and all God’s creatures. His hobbies included volunteer service at church and helping others with home repairs. In his final years, Bill and wife Dorothy enjoyed a carefree life together at Rosegate, an American Senior Living Community, in Indianapolis IN.Bill is preceded in death by two older brothers Robert Greenwald (Wadsworth OH) and Paul Greenwald (Tallmadge OH). He is survived by Dorothy, wife of 65 years; daughters Peggy (Darrel) Riley of Orlando FL and Nancy Poff of Greenwood IN; grandsons Nate Riley, David Riley and Jeremy (Katy) Pfeifer, all of Greenwood IN.A private celebration of life service was held Greenwood Christian Church, Rev. Dr. Darrel Riley officiating.
